About Conquer Australia

Conquer Australia is a caravanning and off-road touring guide for people doing the big trips around this country — from a fortnight up the coast to the full Big Lap. We cover caravan parks, caravan-friendly camping grounds, the best drives, and the off-road tracks that test a rig, with one promise running through all of it: tell you the things the booking apps and brochures leave out.

What we cover

“Can my van do this?”

The thing we care about most is the question every tourer actually asks before a trip: will my setup make it? So our track guides carry a plain rig-suitability rating — from “any van” through to “serious off-road only” — alongside surface, clearance and remoteness notes. It's the layer the data apps don't give you, and it's the reason this site exists.

The Conqueror heritage

For more than a decade this domain belonged to Conqueror Australia, an importer and builder of premium off-road campers and hybrid caravans — rigs built to take Australia's harshest tracks. That business has since wound down, and Conquer Australia is a new, independent editorial project: we're not the manufacturer, we don't sell or service those campers, and we don't speak for the old company. We've kept the name because the mission rhymes — helping people get further off the beaten track with confidence — and we think that heritage deserves an honest mention rather than a quiet rebrand over the top of it.

How we review gear

Every gear review is clearly marked as either Tested (we've used it in real conditions and the page names the tester) or Research-based (we haven't used it, and we say so). We don't pretend to have tested gear we haven't. Full methodology is on our editorial standards page.

How we make money

Conquer Australia is supported mainly by booking and affiliate commissions. When you book a caravan park through one of our partner links (BIG4, G'Day Parks, Discovery Parks, Booking.com) or buy gear we've linked, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This never changes which parks or gear we recommend or what we say about them. Full details are on our affiliate disclosure page.

Editorial independence

Brands and parks don't pay for inclusion or for higher ratings. When a piece is sponsored or a product was provided for testing, we say so on that page.
